
A Powerball ticket sold in Arkansas won an estimated $1.817 billion jackpot in the Christmas Eve drawing on Wednesday, Dec. 24, marking the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
The winning numbers drawn were 4, 25, 31, 52 and 59, with the Powerball number 19 and a 2x Power Play.
Lottery officials say the jackpot grew to approximately $1.817 billion following final ticket sales, making it the largest Powerball prize awarded in 2025 and second only to the $2.04 billion jackpot won in 2022.
The winning ticket was sold at a Murphy USA gas station in Cabot, Arkansas, near Little Rock.
The winner will have the option of taking the full annuitized prize paid out over roughly 30 years or a lump-sum cash option estimated at $834.9 million, before taxes.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 292.2 million.
